Farzana Doctor is a queer Muslim feminist, writer and social worker who lives in Toronto. In her practice, she does volunteer work for LGBT, Muslim and South Asian communities. Her first novel, Stealing Nasreen, centers around a burnt-out lesbian psychotherapist who becomes involved with a couple who recently immigrated from Mumbai. Her second novel, Six Metres of Pavement, was published February 2011.
